UNal leader in producing academic e-books in Colombia

The publications of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNal) are read in more than 14 countries around the world. The UNal editorial has more than 125 free downloadable publications, 2,200 printed books and 406 e-books for a great user community.

This ample catalog has more than 400 digital books and for the second straight year is the first educational institution in Colombia to produce such a volume of specific content in electronic format.

With a clear intent for all things digital and the continued search for new broadcasting alternatives and channels of the publications released by UNal the Editorial has also decided to boost the production of texts in Uflip, eBook and ePub formats of its paper printed material to compete in the challenging open access system altogether and more specifically in the e-commerce market.

The result of this effort is the UNal Virtual Library, an initiative which began in 2013 as a novel business model in the new digital world we now live. Time will also provide a greater scope for the research and literary products produced by the University.

All UNal faculties, campuses, editorial centers and institutes linked to the main public university in Colombia converge to the same location: the Universidad Nacional de Colombia virtual library.
