UN Cultural of UN Radio in Medellin awarded with Simon Bolivar Price

Henry Amariles, producer of the program UN Cultural of Universidad Nacional de Colombia"s radio station in Medellin, will be awarded the Simon Bolivar Prize for Best Interview this October <sup4th.

"I fell happy, I"m very keen on cultural topics and this prize is a motivation to keep broadcasting the life stories of the promoters of culture in the country," asserted Amariles to Agencia de Noticias UN.

This recognition was achieved thanks to an emotive interview with Colombia writer Claudia Arroyave, also known as Koleia Arvila, in which she describes her life story, her passion for literature and the stories of trips and adventures she had in Central America. "This journalistic labor portrays a woman who is passionate for the life and literature of the trips," mentioned Henry Amariles.

During the interview, Arroyave tells how during her infancy felt a big curiosity for discovering those things beyond the places she could go next to her mother from Santa Rosa de Osos in Lanos de Cuivá (Antioquia)

"When I was 4 years old, my mother enrolled me in the school she was working at as a teacher, so I used to go to school on a truck with her. All the time, when I left the truck I used to be sad because I wanted to keep traveling on the truck and see what was beyond on that road," narrates in the interview.

The program UN Cultural was created in 2008 and it is broadcasted from Monday to Thursday at 7:00 PM, at 100.4 FM in the capital of Antioquia. The objective, according to its coordinator, Alejandro Gonzáles Ochoa, is to discover the city events related to culture and create interview cycles with people who are promoting art, music, teacher, dance and literature every day.

The National Journalism Awards Simon Bolivar rewards the best journalism works published in massive media in the country. For its 36 version, 655 nominations were sent and for radio 108 proposals were received.
