The CPB prizes, which recognize the work of the professionals in the journalist media in the country, announced this recognition yesterday "due to its journalistic accuracy, good writing and interest in demanding areas such as science and investigation, which are presented clearly and accurately," affirmed the group of juries conformed by the journalists Germán Castro Caycedo, Luisa Fernanda Vallejo, Azriel Bibliowicz and Fernando Barrero Chávez.
"This is a recognition to the hard labor supported one hundred percent by the University and the members of the group, who highlight research and the labor of the professors, students and researchers from the Institution," asserted Carlos Alberto Patiño, director of Unimedios.
Agencia de Noticias UN was awarded the prize competing against highly recognized informative webs in the country such as Terra.com and Semana.com, "which proves that the quality of the labor that we are doing is being taken into account, and that it is positioning in the country," affirmed Enrique Blanco, coordinator of this webpage.
For the chief of press of Universidad Nacional, Carolina Lancheros, the challenge is to continue in the same good level the Agency has reached, doing its labor of spreading the scientific information for the public opinion and the different communication media in Colombia.
"Digital media offer an impressive informative speed, and the fact of spreading the news in a simple and clear way proves a big responsibility with the country," asserted Caycedo in the ceremony that took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Bogotá.
The ceremony, organized by the CPB in commemoration of the Journalist Day, also recognized the labor of important professionals due to the implementation of the radio in the country such as Fernando Londoño Henao, founder of Caracol Radio, and Carlos Ardila Lulle, among others.
Universidad Nacional de Colombia, besides the category of "Best digital and virtual media", was also nominated for "Best television program" with its production Infraestructura, lunar para la productividad, made by Prisma TV.
