The project, called Esawa, is a high quality natural make up line made out of vegetal raw material from the Amazon. In its elaboration, only animal derivative products are used, such as milk and products from the beehive or royal jelly.
Esawa is an interdisciplinary group conformed only by professionals from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. A pharmaceutical chemist, a chemistry engineer and a business administrator are its members.
During an interview with the project"s coordinator, Diana Leticia Duarte, a business administrator student from ninth semester, mentioned that "the added value of our products is that they are made out of natural materials, and they do not have any contraindication or dangerous chemical substances for humans or the environment, they are also ecological and can be used by anyone."
Regarding the impact of the products, Duarte affirmed: "We want our products to be natural and autochthonous from Colombia. They do not necessary need to be Chinese or Indian products to be good. In addition, Colombian products are also excellent and made out of vegetal components from the Amazon and Colombian tropical forests.
Esawa was created within the entrepreneurial group Innove, which aims at gathering different disciplines to create companies through different tools such as conferences, workshops and other methodologies based on planning and financial support from the University welfare department at Bogotá"s campus.
"What Innove does is supporting projects from the academic perspective and presenting them to Fondo Emprender, the Chamber of Commerce, Andi and other Colombian institutions. In other words, apart from the financial support, we also have the motivation from the academic part," explained the student.
She also mentioned that "the process in Innove has been enriching. In fact, I met my projects" group here. The combination of different disciplines is fundamental and the possibility to be in contact with different investors, strategic customers, providers and possible consumers; is essential."
Since it is an excellent product and an entrepreneurial model, this project was presented during the first University Entrepreneurial Day, celebrated at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá.
