UN Análisis won the National Prize of Environmental Journalism

‘The media and the hydrolic resources’ was the selected topic to make the announcement, in which the program UN Análisis was also awarded the second and third place in this category, due to the programs about subsidies to aqueduct public services, broadcasted on july 15th, and Malaga Bay, on may 26th.
Committed to society and the difficulties the country is facing, the production team of UN Análisis–UN Radio, from Unimedios, has decided to donate to the victims of the rainy season, through Colombia Humanitaria, two million Colombian pesos (COP 2’000.000) that they received as prize.
The program about wetlands discussed about the need to obtain potable water and improve the life conditions as the challenges for the research groups that are working on the design and construction of wetlands to treat the debris in the water. This type of wetlands has been conceived as a technological alternative that can solve the basic problem of cleaning up according to the social, economic and topographic conditions.
This program counted on the participation of Jaime Lara, a PhD in civil engineering and professor at Universidad Javeriana; Carlos Arias Isaza, a researcher from Aarhus University (Denmark); Joan García Serrano, a PhD in biology and professor of environmental engineering at the School of Civil Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (Spain); Diego Paredes, a sanitary engineer and professor of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Universidad Tecnológica in Pereira; Jenny Adriana García Palacio, an environmental administrator and candidate to become a magister in Ecotechnology; Roberto Balda, a magister in sanitary engineering and professor of the Environmental and Sanitary Engineering program at Universidad de la Salle, and Otoniel Sanabria, an specialist civil engineer in bioclimatic architecture and sustainable construction, with a master’s degree and doctorate in environmental engineering and professor of Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
The Production Team is composed by Carlos Alberto Patiño Villa, the general director; Carlos Emilio Raigoso Camelo, editorial coordinator; Édgar Octavio Guasca, general producer; Giovanni Castillo, technical assistant; Carlos Hernán Caicedo Escobar, topic consultant; Guillermo Parada, host, and the journalists Richard Hernández Gonzales, Claudia Janneth Sánchez Rivera, Paula Andrea Portela García, Juan Ignacio García Ruiz and Mauricio Cardona Jiménez.
Un Análisis is a radio program in which the main national and international facts are analyzed. The program counts on interviews and debates that allow a combination of journalistic work with the academic vision of the professors of the University, who have a big professional experience and the necessary knowledge and criteria to discuss these topics in the program with responsibility and seriousness.
This program is broadcasted from Monday to Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 a.m. through UN Radio, on its dial 98.5 FM in Bogota, 100.4 FM in Medellin and www.unradio.unal.edu.co.
